CM Group has made its range of Luminosity Mentor training and corporate communications apps available on Windows 8 smartphones and tablets.
The apps provide a simple way for businesses to deliver training programmes. The iPad and iPhone version is already extensively used by some of the largest highstreet banks in the UK.
The Luminosity Mentor apps are now the first of their kind to be available on the Windows 8 platform, Microsoft's latest operating system. They fully integrate with CM Group's content creation and cloud based delivery options.
Managing Director and Chief Learning Strategist for CM Group, Tim Buff, said "Windows 8 is still in its infancy in the UK, but is already widely adopted in the US. These apps capitalise on the beautiful user interface which is one of the features of Windows 8, to provide a really attractive and functional way to deliver resources to employees, customers and partners and comprehensively track usage."
The apps can provide a comprehensive catalogue of information and training programmes that can be downloaded from either an organisation's own Enterprise App Server or the Windows Store. Content available through the apps includes mobile quizzes and assessments, video webcasts and audio podcasts, plus Microsoft Office and PDF documents.
The apps also support integration with business' own corporate news, blogs and Twitter feeds. Integrated SCORM and Tin Can online and offline tracking provides detailed analytics about how people use the content and the app itself.
"The gamification aspects of the app are fascinating and incorporate some of the latest thinking in how to spark learners' interest and keep them coming back to the app for more," Buff added.
