Deal: £400 Samsung ATIV Book 9 Lite laptop

Samsung only recently released the ATIV Book 9 Lite (otherwise known as the NP905S3G-K01UK) in the UK and you can get it from Currys for £400 (or £500 with the touchscreen display as the NP915S3G-K01UK). You will need to use the cashback scheme currently running at Currys (which will last until 11 September) to bring down the price by £100.

The Book 9 Lite runs on what Samsung calls a custom-made quad-core processor but which happens to be an AMD A6-1450 APU clocked at up to 1.4GHz. Funnily enough, Samsung don't even list AMD as the APU's maker either on the laptop or Windows' system information menu.

Other features include 4GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon HD8250 GPU, 128GB of RAM, a 13.3in display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, VGA/HDMI, a gigabit Ethernet port, two USB ports, a card reader, a card reader, up to four hour battery life and a rather attractive design.

The laptop is a mere 17mm thick and weighs only 1.44Kg which ranks it amongst the lightest non-Ultrabook devices on the market. Interested? Check out Samsung Ativ Book 9 Lite: hands-on preview here.
