Online retailer Amazon is selling the Optoma HD131X projector for £584 as part of its deals of the week campaign, one which ends on Sunday. It is one of the few sub-£1000 projectors that can not only do full HD but also 3D, without any manufacturer's gimmicks (compression or upscaling).
It can project on a surface up to 300in across (around 25 feet or roughly 7.5m) with a contrast ratio of 20,000:1. Since it uses DLP technology, it is quite small (32 x 10 x 23 cm) and offers up to 2000 ANSI lumens brightness.
The rest of the feature list includes, two 10W speakers, two HDMI inputs, two D-Sub ports and all the usual connectivity options you'd expect from a projector of this caliber. Optoma quotes a lamp life of up to 6,000 hours, which is equivalent to 250 days running 24/7, more likely a couple of years of daily usage.
