Deal: £190 Google Nexus 7 2013 tablet

Enter TABL5 at checkout at Currys to get a five per cent discount off the Google Nexus 7 tablet (2013 version), bringing the price of the 16GB model to £190 and that of the 32GB version to £228 respectively.

This tablet comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM, a 7in IPS display with a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, a rear 5-megapixel camera, a front-facing one as well, a microUSB port and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The new tablet is both thinner and lighter than the older one while its battery life is still exceptionally good. Note that it still doesn't have a microHDMI or a microSD card slot.

Those unwilling of spending that much on a tablet might consider a cheaper alternative in the form of the older Google Nexus 7 tablet or the Asus MeMO Pad HD 7, both of which can be had for around £125.

The end of 2013 is likely to see a number of new tablets featuring similar configuration appear on the market with a lower price tag, so it might be worth keeping an eye opened on deals for Christmas. Check out Google Nexus 7 (2013) review here.
