Cornwall-based software development outsourcing firm Headforwards has used the 2013 Agile on the Beach conference as a platform to announce a new deal with NTT Europe, a subsidiary of Japanese telecoms giant NTT.
The contract will see Headforwards and NTT Europe continue to partner on software development projects as they look to build on two prior years of successful collaborations.
"[Headforwards] quickly and seamlessly integrated the outsourced team with our existing internal team, and over the last two years we have steadily increased our investment in the partnership. With a track-record of contributing to the delivery of key projects to our stakeholders, Headforwards are undoubtedly the right outsourcing option for NTT Europe," said John Salter, director of operation support systems at NTT Europe.
Founded in 2011, Headforwards operates out of the Pool Innovation Centre near Redruth in Cornwall.
Reflecting on the new tie-up with NTT, Headforwards co-director Toby Parkings noted the impact of the forward-looking facility - which benefits from superfast fibre-optic Internet and flexible, affordable workspaces - in attracting talent to the area.
"We have been able to attract some of the very best software developers working in the UK today as a result of our unique location. Not only do we have beaches on our doorstep, but a state-of-the-art office with 100mbps internet speeds," he commented.
Exploring the latest developments in the agile movement, Agile on the Beach is a two day business and technology conference in Falmouth focused on three strands of agile adoption: business strategy, teams, and software craftmanship.
The Pool Innovation Centre, which also houses Superfast Cornwall, opened in 2010 with the help of the EU Convergence Fund.
