Vodafone has today announced its 4G network will be switched on in Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield on 28 September.
The telecoms giant added that by the end of the year Vodafone 4G will also be available in Bradford, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle. It initially launched the service in London at the end of August
The company expects to have 98 per cent indoor 4G coverage across the country by 2015.
Vodafone also announced today that the firm is adding an extra 4GB of data per month to all is Vodafone Red 4G ready plans.
"Anyone signing up to a SIM only plan or a 12 or 24 month plan, with a new 4G-ready handset included, will get three months unlimited UK data, then double the amount of data available on standard Vodafone Red plans plus an extra 4GB per month for the length of their contract," the company explains.
The additional data deal will be available until the end of October for all new or upgrading customers. Consumers who have already signed up for Vodafone Red 4G-ready plans will also receive the additional 4GB of data at no extra cost.
Vodafone 4G subscribers also get the choice of Spotify Premium and Sky Sports Mobile TV included for either the first six months or duration of the contract, depending on the data plan.
Vodafone Red 4G-ready starts at £26 per month for a 12 month SIM-only plan, and £34 per month for a 24 month plan with a handset included, both of which now come with 6GB of data.
