Tesco is selling the first generation Asus Google Nexus 7 tablet for £119. Note that this is a refurbished model but still carries a 12-month warranty. The original Nexus 7 caused a commotion when it appeared on the market. It was ground-breaking both in terms of the technology it packed but also the price it was sold for.
As a reminder, it comes with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 7in display with a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, a 1.2-megapixel camera, 32GB storage (but no microSD card slot), GPS, Wi-Fi, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and up to eight hours battery life.
The new version of the tablet, called the Nexus 7 2013 edition, is essentially a tablet version of the LG-built Nexus 4 smartphone with some notable improvements though. The screen has now been beefed up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a rear 5-megapixel camera added.
Tesco's Google Nexus 7 is probably the best value-for-money tablet on the market and a stonking deal if you can live without a rear camera or a microSD card slot but with a refurbished item. Check out our review of the Google Nexus 7 here.
