Deal: Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone goes on preorder for £640

Nokia's Lumia 1020 is certainly one of the most exciting handsets of the past few months as it manages to combine an impressive 41-megapixel camera sensor with 64GB onboard storage. The smartphone is currently on preorder at O2 for £640 on the O2 Refresh tariff and available on standard pay monthly tariffs with a £260 upfront fee.

The mobile operator expects it to go on sale on 25 September and will deliver a free accessory bundle worth £150, one that includes a wireless charging plate and cover, a camera grip and a tripod.

The Lumia 1020 is built on the same hardware platform as the Nokia Lumia 920, which was unveiled last year. This Windows Phone 8 device has a 4.5in display with a true hardware-based Optical Image Stabilisation solution plus Nokia Music that can stream more than 22 million tracks.

The handset, which is locked on O2 and is covered by O2's loyalty scheme, Priority Moments, is 4G compatible; O2 delivers it in London, Leeds and Bradford with more towns to follow soon. Check out our review of the Lumia 1020 smartphone here.
