Deal: £79 Amazon Kindle Fire tablet

Amazon is giving away a free voucher for a £30 discount on a certified refurbished Kindle Fire tablet. That brings down the cost of that tablet to £79. Note that it is the non-sponsored version. These refurbished products have been tested and recertified by Amazon to look and work like new.

The Kindle Fire is now old technology with the original template for the device being the now-defunct BlackBerry PlayBook. Like it, the Kindle Fire boosts a 7in display with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, Wi-Fi, a dual-core TI OMAP4430 SoC clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage and Wi-Fi.

It doesn't however have a microSD card slot or cameras (rear or front) or a microHDMI connector. But Amazon does provide with one month free trial to Lovefilm's instant video streaming service as well as unlimited cloud storage for your Amazon content.

We still reckon that the Barnes and Noble Nook HD would probably be a better option at that price especially as it carried a higher resolution plus has a microSD card slot. Still, if you prefer Amazon, this £79 Kindle Fire is a no brainer. You can read our review of the Kindle Fire tablet here.
