Heads up for startups: Last call for IBM SmartCamp London entries

Aspiring startups and budding entrepreneurs, take note: the final countdown is on for applications to IBM's SmartCamp London business accelerator.

Now entering its fourth year, IBM SmartCamp is designed to help early-stage ventures develop a successful business model in line with the tech giant's Smarter Planet vision.

Entries for the programme are being accepted up until midnight (British Summer Time) on Friday, 20 September.

Thereafter, successful applicants will be announced and showcased on 16 October at Level 39 (pictured, top), one of Europe's foremost tech incubator spaces, which is set in the prestigious One Canada Square, Canary Wharf.

"SmartCamp is a unique opportunity for start-ups because it is specifically looking for technology innovations to help us achieve more sustainable city living," commented Kevin Farrar, IBM global entrepreneur & SmartCamp lead for the UK and Ireland.

Farrar added: "SmartCamp's strength also lies in its combination of expert mentoring and deep commercial insights. We help start-ups refine their innovations, but we also help them identify and address the specific challenges they encounter at their different stages of growth."
