Deal: £400 Sony Vaio F1421X2E laptop with touchscreen and Core i5 processor

Online retailer Amazon is currently selling the Sony Vaio F1421X2E laptop for just under £400 including delivery. This is a great little smartphone that comes with a touchscreen display and even an Intel Core i5 processor, which is extremely rare in this price bracket, especially coming from a major brand.

Its thickness (26mm) and weight (2.4Kg) mean that it doesn't qualify as an Ultrabook but everything else appears to make of it a cracking prospect. The Intel processor is a third generation dual-core Core i5-3337U clocked at 1.8GHz with a 2.7GHz Turbo Boost, 3MB L3 cache and an HD Graphics 4000 GPU.

The rest of the configuration include 4GB of RAM (shared), a 500GB hard disk drive (spinning at 5400RPM), a DVD writer, a 14in display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution, a card reader, four USB ports, HDMI out (but no VGA), Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a webcam powered by "Exmor R for PC" technology and up to five hours battery life.

As expected, this Vaio comes with an impressive array of applications and services as well as Sony's ClearAudio+ sound technology.
