Deal: £159 Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet

Despite producing run-of-the-mill, barely entry-level tablets, Samsung has sold a lot of Galaxy Tab devices, so much so that it has introduced a Tab 3 earlier this year with many of the same features as the earlier models.

Tesco is selling the Galaxy Tab 3 tablet for £159 thanks to a discount code (TDX-HF4X) that cuts the price of the tablet by £20. Note that this code expires on Sunday. The offer also includes 159 Clubcard points and free delivery.

There's a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 7inch display with a 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, 1GB og RAM, a dual-core system-on-chip from Marvell clocked at 1.2GHz, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a front webcam, up to eight hours battery life, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

To make it a worthy buy, Samsung also bundled a two-year subscription to Dropbox with 50GB storage space as well as the popular Samsung WatchOn online service.

The competition is quite potent. The new Nexus 7 costs £179 (at Tesco with the same voucher) and is, in every possible way, a much better tablet. On the other hand, you can purchase two Archos GamePad tablets for less than one Galaxy Tab 3. Check out our review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 here.
