We toyed with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone (or phablet) at IFA earlier last month. This is the fastest smartphone currently available and is the first with 3GB of RAM. Popular eBay retailer sells it for £545 with free delivery and 545 Nectar points.
The N9000 differs from the version that's currently available in the UK by the fact that it packs the Samsung Exynos 5420 (quad-core A15 clocked at 1.9GHz with quad-core Cortex-A7 clocked at 1.3GHz) rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 that powers its UK version.
This means that this particular model doesn't come with 4G functionality, not an issue if you don't plan to use LTE soon. Other than that, there's Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5.7in Super AMOLED display with full HD resolution, a massive 3,200mAh battery, 16GB onboard storage (rather than 32GB), a microSD card slot and 3GB of RAM.
As expected, it comes with a number of Samsung-optimised features like Action Memo, Scrapbook, S Finder, Pen Window and Screen Write. Interested? Check out our Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Hands-on preview here.
