Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop goes on sale for £999

The recently-announced Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop has gone on sale at online retailer Isme, part of the shopping group Shopdirect, for a whopping £999 excluding delivery. As its name indicate, it is an evolution of the Yoga laptop with a display that flips back 360 degrees to convert the Ultrabook into a tablet of sorts.

The biggest selling point of the device is its display, a 13.3in IPS one with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,800 pixels (QHD+); now that's 5.76 million pixels which is more than two full HD displays put together and around 40 per cent more than QHD monitors. We're still at pains to find out how this is going to make business users more productive.

The Yoga 2 Pro runs on a fourth-generation Intel Core processor (Core i5-4200U clocked at 1.6GHz with 3MB L3 cache), has 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD drive plus a number of pre-loaded applications like phone Companion, Camera Man, Photo Touch and Chef.

Dell and Samsung are the two other companies to promote QHD+ laptops, the first one with the XPS 15 and the second one with the ATIV Book 9 Plus.
