Apple's iPad mini 2 and iPad 5 launch: Where to watch live

This event has now concluded. Thanks for taking an interest - you may also like to check out our live updating coverage of Apple's iPad mini with Retina and iPad Air launch, which remains active as we start to get hands-on with the new devices and details of UK pricing and availability begin to come to light.

Fanboys and girls of the world, rejoice: unlike for its recent iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C unveiling, Apple will be offering a live stream of tonight's blockbuster iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 launch event, which is set to kick off at 18:00 BST.

ITProPortal will be keeping tabs on all the action throughout the evening, so follow our Apple iPad launch event live blog to keep abreast of all the breaking news from San Francisco - and possibly enjoy the odd bit of off-hand banter, too.

But if you absolutely must have you eyes on the prize, you'll be pleased to note that the Apple Events page now has a listing for tonight's special event.

Unfortunately, the live video stream is restricted to card carrying Apple enthusiasts – you'll have to be running Safari version 4 or later on a Mac with OS X v10.6, or have an iOS device with at least version 4.2 of Apple's mobile OS.

If you're feeling hard done by, dare we remind you that we're running an Apple iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 launch live blog?

The stream will also be available via second and third-generation Apple TV boxes.

So what can you expect from tonight's iPad show? To bring yourself up to speed, check out our Apple iPad launch event preview, or for more a personal slant, make for our iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 wishlist.
