Acer has introduced two new business oriented ultrabooks: a traditional laptop with a docking system, and a slate tablet that has a selection of docks.
The Acer TravelMate P645 is a traditional laptop form factor, while the Acer TravelMate X313 uses a convertible slate tablet setup similar to Acer's consumer-oriented Iconia series.
The Acer TravelMate P645 is a traditional clamshell laptop with options for 4th-generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. The TravelMate P645 can be equipped with a 14in screen at either 1,920 x 1,080 resolution with an AMD Radeon HD 8750M discrete GPU, or a 14in screen with 1,366 x 768 resolution and Intel HD Graphics 5000/5400. The TravelMate P645 comes with a comprehensive set of ports, but can also be equipped with an Acer ProDock for deskbound connections for networking, I/O devices, and displays.
The Acer TravelMate X313 is a 11.6in slate tablet that's capable of docking with a desktop dock (a la the Acer Iconia W700-64656) as well as a keyboard dock with an integrated case.
Like the TravelMate P645, the TravelMate X313 meets ultrabook standards with a third-generation Intel Core i5 processor. Acer claims six hours of battery life in the 0.39in thick tablet, and it weighs in at 0.8kg for a modicum of portability. The TravelMate X313 is made of scratch resistant glass and aluminium, and has passed rigorous wear-and-tear testing. The Acer TravelMate X313 will be available this month.
