Google's Nexus wireless charger goes on sale

If you find yourself constantly tripping over the long, knotted cable that connects your phone to your charger, Google has just the solution with their new wireless charger for Nexus handsets.

At the moment, the device is only on sale in the US and Canada and is retailing for $49.99 (£31). It’s hoped, however, that the charger will make the leap across the pond to UK customers soon, and when it does users can experience the convenience of charging their phone or tablet without having to physically plug it in to something.

Measuring 60 x 60 x 12.5mm, the charger comes with a 9W 1.8A AC Adaptor, a microUSB cable and a warranty card.

The charger has a sticky bottom, so it adheres to users' desktop, and appears to also have magnets inside that help to keep the phone on top. Google also released a a premium "Nexus" branded charger, just in case you like your wireless charger to affirm your brand loyalty.

It is designed to work with the Nexus 4 and 5 smartphones, as well as the Nexus 7 tablet and other QI-compatible devices.
