The 2013 VIP Asia Awards have celebrated the very best in cutting edge Asian technology.
Held in South Korea at the swanky Seoul Ritz Carlton, the awards recognised outstanding Asian products across a range of categories, including mobile, computing, electronics, and green tech.
ITProPortal.com was lucky enough to be invited to Seoul to attend this year's VIP Asia Awards as the event's exclusive European media partner, making up a high profile press contingent that also featured US-based Ubergizmo and CBS Interactive's flagship Chinese tech publication, ZOL.
One of the products showcased at the event was Tino's Dino World, an early learning edtech app developed by Korea's National History Research Institute, which was recognised in the mobile smart app field and revealed to us that it was looking to break into the UK market in the future.
As well as celebrating some of Asia's top technology, the ceremony also honoured the tenth anniversary of the AVING Global News Network and featured a keynote address on the theme of wearable technology.
In addition to attending the VIP Asia Awards, ITProPortal's recent trip to Seoul featured a visit to the Smart Content Center, one of Korea's top startup incubators.
Stay tuned, as we'll be reporting on our meetings with top executives from some of Korea's most promising early stage ventures - including Oxford University Press favourite iPortfolio - in due course.
