Nokia’s Lumia 2520 tablet will land in the UK later this week with John Lewis revealing it will be the exclusive stockist of the new Windows tablet.
The department store launches the tablet on 4 December both in store and online that is available in gloss red and silk black colourways and comes in at a price of £399.
“We're excited to announce the launch of the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet exclusive to John Lewis. We have seen a continuing demand for tablets, selling one every 15 seconds, and we think the addition of this tablet to our range will appeal to customers looking to do more than surf the web,” said Harry Boughton, junior buyer for tablets and telecoms at John Lewis.
“It comes with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and Microsoft Office is pre-installed, making it ideal for customers who use Excel, Word, Powerpoint or Outlook,” he added.
Nokia’s Lumia 2520 is the line’s first journey into tablet territory and comes with a 10.1in full HD display that has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, which equals a pixel density of 218.11ppi.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz supplemented by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard memory, and it runs the latest version of the Microsoft Windows 8.1 RT OS.
In the camera department there is a 6.7-megapixel snapper on the back with a Carl Zeiss lens and f/1.9 aperture that allows optimum low light shooting with a 2-megapixel front camera.
Connectivity wise it has 4G LTE as well as Wi-Fi and it comes with a powerful 8,000mAh battery that gives the tablet up to 11 hours battery life. An optional Nokia Power Keyboard Case can be bought for £149.95, which gives the tablet another five hours of battery life and two USB 2.0 ports with customers having to wait an additional couple of weeks for this to be available.
