Intel appears Inside Barcelona shirts

Intel has signed an agreement to become FC Barcelona’s official technology partner with part of the deal seeing Intel’s logo added to the inside of the Spanish side’s jerseys.

The agreement sees the Intel Inside logo adorn the inside of the player jerseys and it will be worn for the first time in the La Liga match against Villarreal on 14 December.

In addition to the revolutionary logo placement, the partnership will see Intel provide additional support programs and technology, which will be announced next year and make Barcelona one of the “most technologically advanced football clubs in the world.”

“This is more than a sponsorship to Intel,” said Deborah Conrad, Intel chief marketing officer. “The technology we are deploying and the programs we are working on together are designed to elevate FC Barcelona into one of the most technologically advanced soccer clubs in the world and to launch an ambitious slate of educational initiatives.”

The two parties have already unveiled a number of initiatives and one involves providing students at Barcelona’s La Masia academy with the latest Intel-based technology to help them with their studies.

“It is a huge satisfaction for FC Barcelona to be able to join forces and share the values of innovation and teamwork with a company of such worldwide prestige as Intel,” said Sandro Rosell, president of FC Barcelona. “We are both trendsetters in our fields, and I am convinced the collaboration we are starting today will be very important. It will mean much more than a financial sponsorship.”

In addition, Intel will provide FC Barcelona players and staff with the latest two-in-one devices based on Intel chipsets and at the same time Intel will work to improve research, training and performance using state-of-the-art technology.

For the fans there will be new technology installed by Intel at the Nou Camp to improve the experience and lastly Intel will deliver new technology to Barcelona’s education network that it has built up across the globe.
