Yahoo's award-winning weather app is now available on the iPad.
The app combines your daily forecast with local photos from Flickr. "We've created a spectacular new design that takes advantage of the larger screen," Adam Mathes, director of mobile weather product management, said in a blog post. "You'll immediately see a smart summary of weather data along with curated photography. As you scroll, forecasts, graphs, and weather data delightfully animate with every interaction. Watch as raindrops fall, clouds move in, and the sun rises."
The app also lets users share weather information with friends via text, email, Twitter, or Facebook.
Photos are pulled from those submitted to the Project Weather Flickr group; "we look forward to seeing more of your weather photos," Mathes said.
Yahoo Weather for iPad is now available on the iTunes Store.
Yahoo unveiled its updated email and weather applications for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets back in April. The stunning imagery from Flickr made the app a popular download. The Android version got an update in August.
Yahoo likely hopes that you'll focus on the Yahoo Weather for iPad app rather than its recent troubles with Yahoo Mail. The service experienced severe disruptions last week, prompting a mea culpa from CEO Marissa Mayer over the weekend.
