Motorola has been busy sending a bevy of invites to members of the press, asking for their attendance at a London event on 14 January that will announce a "new addition to the European Motorola family of products."
Just what this new arrival might be is unclear, but whispers abound that the previously US-exclusive Moto X smartphone may be on the cards.
Hailed as North America's flagship handset, features such as the fact that the Moto X can be activated up to 15 feet away using Android's "OK Google" voice command have made it a popular handset across the pond.
In our hands-on preview last summer we were impressed by the handset, which boasts a 1,280 x 720 AMOLED screen, a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon processor, and a curved chassis that fits snugly in the palm of your hand.
The Moto X launched in the States last August, and at the time a Motorola spokesperson attempted to console a cluster of disappointed European journalists with a pat on the back and an encouraging "the US launch is not about the US being Motorola's priority at all, there are devices coming to Europe."
It seems then, that we may be only a week away from leaving sticky fingerprints all over the Moto X's 4.7in screen.
Stay tuned because ITProPortal will be at the event next week to find out once and for all what Motorola's plans are and to bring you complete coverage of the latest "addition" to the family.
