Apple is increasingly focusing on the business world, and has seen success as a result. With iOS 7, Cupertino pushed forwards with a number of new enterprise features, looking to make iOS gadgets a better fit with companies’ Mobile Device Management (MDM) strategies.

And if you’ve got an iPhone which you use for business, of course you’ll need the apps to go with it. And with that in mind, we’ve compiled this short roundup of five must-have apps to get you started.

QuickOffice (free)

Quickoffice was a great product, and then got snapped up by Google – which made it even stronger in some respects. As you would expect, it syncs up smoothly with Google Drive, and it’s fully compatible with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. It’s free too, which is obviously great value for money – the only downside is that some users report glitches here and there.

Keeper Password & Data Vault (free)

Got a secret? And you want to keep that secret on an easily lost mobile phone? Okay, you might be crazy, or maybe you know that Keeper will keep that secret for you with 256-bit encryption. If someone tries to access it incorrectly, you can preset a self-destruct to take that data out. Keeper will sync secrets and passwords with Mac or Windows, too.

Salesforce 1 (free)

Users of for CRM swear by the service. They can't live without it – but it's hard to put in your pocket. Luckily, you can access Salesforce on your iPhone with this official free app. It gathers all your Chatter, CRM and customs apps together under one umbrella on your mobile.

iXpenseIt Lite (free)

What's more tedious than holding all those receipts for an expense report to come? Actually entering the data from those receipts. However, you can now enter the data whenever an expenses-related transaction happens, right on your iPhone. The data is password protected, and the software will give you an indicator of how you're doing with your business budget. Export the info to a CSV to slap into a spreadsheet later.

Awesome Note +To-do (£2.49)

As the name implies, Awesome Note +To-do is an iPhone app for creating notes and to-do lists. Of all the personal organisation apps on Apple's mobile devices, Awesome Note is one of the most visually compelling, letting users choose which colours, background images, fonts, and icons they want to use in their notes. It's a treat to play with all these options, along with the app's graphical calendar, while also being productive.
