What do you do when you’re running out of storage space on your smartphone? If it has microSD card support maybe you just upgrade to a bigger card. Maybe you delete some of the old photos you’ve got taking up space. Or maybe you look at the many, many apps you have installed over time and wonder if you really need them all.
It isn’t always easy to do an app cull. Perhaps it is a bit counter-intuitive, but installing an app can help. Aptrax is currently only available for Android, and it keeps an eye on the apps you use including monitoring how frequently you run every installed app and for how long.
That game you installed ages ago which eats huge amounts of storage but which you have not played for a month? Aptrax knows about it. That app you installed to help with language problems when you went abroad last year and used for just two weeks? Aptrax will know you have not used it for the last eight months.
Aptrax starts monitoring app usage from the moment it is installed, so it won’t provide you with info on what apps you might safely delete straight off the bat, but give it a couple of months and you’ll have some info to work with.
