Campbell Williams of Six Degrees Group recently popped into ITProPortal Towers to talk us through all things G-Cloud.
The central government seems to be obsessed with the cost savings G-Cloud can bring with it, but still only around 20 per cent of local authorities have ever even used the buying framework.
Over the past three years, it has generated revenues of approximately £78 million, which is not exactly staggering, especially when you consider the billions usually set aside for major IT projects.
Williams thinks it is unwise to measure G-Cloud's effectiveness through financial benefits alone.
In Williams' eyes, G-Cloud has the potential to be transformational. Money savings are obviously great but, in order to reap the full rewards that G-Cloud has the potential to deliver, you have to look at a much broader picture.
