Another retailer has announced it is to sell the HTC One M8 SIM free as Unlocked Mobiles is offering the device at an eye-watering price of almost £530.
The device officially goes on sale on the site on Friday 28 March and the SIM free version will set back consumers £528.98 for a Gun Metal Grey or Silver White coloured smartphone – a mere £1 cheaper than Phones4u is offering it at.
Unlocked Mobiles’ estimated delivery date of 28 March means that the SIM free device gains a precious few days on the rival Sony Xperia Z2’s release date of 1 April and its release comes weeks ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
The site, however, isn’t offering customers pre-ordering the HTC One M8 any sweeteners compared to Phones4u and Vodafone, which is giving away a HTC BoomBass speaker to customers taking out a lengthily contract on the new device.
A London launch event earlier today was chosen by the Taiwanese company to debut the HTC One M8 smartphone that it hopes will mount a credible challenge to other Android manufacturers.
The smartphone has an impressive array of features inside its full metal body including a 5in Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and 16GB of internal storage that can be upgraded to 128GB with an additional memory card.
HTC has added a new dual rear camera system to the device that consists of a primary UltraPixel camera as well as a secondary camera that will reportedly allow owners to take 3D videos in the future. Selfie-lovers will be pleased by the presence of a third 5-megapixel front camera that completes the device’s impressive photography lineup.
