The retailer has set SIM-free pricing for the HTC One M8 at £549.99, which is £20 more than at rival mobile store Phones 4u. HTC's new flagship will also be available free on contracts starting from £42 a month.

EE will be offering the HTC One M8 via its online shop and over the phone from 26 March, with rollout at its stores scheduled for 27 March.

The new smartphone will be available on a range of contracts with EE, the best of which to our mind is a £37.99 a month deal (with a £29.99 upfront cost) that includes a doubled 4G data allowance of 4GB.

EE has also come up trumps in the consumer bribery sweepstakes, with everyone who purchases an HTC One M8 from the network between 28 March and 10 April getting a free return ticket to one of 12 European cities, including ITProPortal favourites like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Prague, Rome, Nice, and Vienna. Seriously.

Phones 4u

Phones 4u now has the HTC One M8 available at selected stores, with wider availability pegged for 27 March. The retailer has the best SIM-free pricing we're aware of, flogging the device for £529.95.

To get a free handset, buyers will have to take out a contract of at least £42 a month, though Phones 4u is throwing in a few sweeteners - a free HTC Folio Case and Boombass speaker, plus a £25 Google Play voucher.

The company also revealed that pre-ordering for the coveted HTC One M8 gold model will commence in the "coming weeks."

Three also made the HTC One M8 available to buy immediately following the device's launch and you can now purchase it in-store or via the network's website.

There are currently four tariff options for the M8, all of which feature a £49 upfront cost. Contracts for the device start at £38 a month for 600 minutes and 2GB of 4G data, while it's £44 a month for Three's famous all-you-can-eat data and unlimited talk time plan.

The HTC One M8 is now available at select Vodafone stores, with full rollout scheduled for 27 March. The first 3,000 customers who snap up the new handset via the network will get a free HTC Boombass speaker thrown in, with the device coming free on Red 3G contracts starting from £42 a month. We're not yet sure what Vodafone's 4G plans are for the M8.
