Chromecast is proving itself to be a really useful gadget both at home and in the office. The number of apps supporting it is growing daily, and with every new batch I see, at least one app gets downloaded and used. PhotoCast looks like being one of those that will stay downloaded for a while to come – it's a real winner for anyone using Chromecast at home or at work.
Quite simply, PhotoCast will put the photos that are on your handset onto a TV. It drops them into a graphic that looks a bit like an old fashioned print photo – that's not quite to my taste, but if you don't like it you can pop into magazine view which lays your photos out in different sizes, or go for a full-screen view which shows just the photos with no framing border.
So, Auntie Pat gets to be bored by your holiday snaps in the full glory of her mega-television, or, if you prefer to look at it another way, you can collect information in the form of photos and then use them very easily in a work setting. Just make sure you take those embarrassing selfies out of the mix.
