The Galaxy S5 Crystal Edition is set to hit the shelves in South Korea in May, the video showing that the back casing will be completely clad in Swarovski crystals, reports SamMobile.
Little else has been revealed apart from the fact that underneath the sparkly exterior will be the same specification and pricing is set to be considerably higher than the regular version of the device.
Samsung last released a blinging version of one of its smartphones back in December 2013 when Thai customers were able to buy the Galaxy S4 Crystal Version in white that was constructed with Swarovski crystals. The smartphone, which had a limited run of just 3,500 units, was priced at 20,300 Thai baht [£373] and the Galaxy S5 is likely to be priced at a higher level if the amount of crystals in the preview flick are anything to go by.
It went on sale in 125 countries around the world on 11 April with a strong health and fitness focus stemming from the fact that it launched alongside the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit smartwatches.
The smartphone has only been out for a matter of weeks and has already been making waves across the globe with huge sales numbers including record breaking sales at the Carphone Warehouse.
The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1in Super AMOLED 1,920 x 1,080 resolution display as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and is both dust and water resistant with a built-in heart rate monitor to boot. All of this will be present on the Crystal Edition and it remains to be seen whether Samsung decides to release it anywhere apart from South Korea.
