HP expands enterprise-level solutions through HP-UX enhancements

HP has expanded its mission-critical enterprise environments by carrying out a number of enhancements to some of its most popular business offerings.

The firm has made the improvements to the HP-UX operating environment, HP CloudSystem Matrix with HP-UX, and created new HP Integrity NonStop entry-class servers in order for customers to increase performance whilst at the same time becoming more efficient.

“The latest enhancements to our HP Integrity solutions demonstrate HP’s commitment to provide customers with purpose-built, highly-available infrastructure capabilities for their most critical applications,” said Ric Lewis, vice president and general manager, Enterprise Servers Business at HP. “Enterprises everywhere are required to handle significant data volume while providing customers continuous access and availability to their mission-critical workloads.”

The HP-UX 11i v3 solution allows customers to perform zero-downtime platform upgrades of virtualised apps between HP Integrity i2 and i4 servers; virtualise larger workloads with double the virtual capacity available compared with previous models; decrease reboot times by 50 per cent; and reconfigure I/O’s without system downtime.

HP CloudSystem Matrix with HP-UX, meanwhile, benefits from the enhancements by allowing larger private cloud deployments to allow for better performance and flexibility in order to improve service level agreement [SLA] performance. It also provides a lower entry cost for HP-UX private cloud deployments through two socket licences bundles, and lastly it increases data centre processing capacity by identifying inefficient server processes and eliminating them.

Finally, the company is delivering NonStop server technology to small and medium sized businesses through the new HP Integrity NonStop NS2300 and NS2400 servers. Both use the latest Intel Itanium processor 9500 series and can handle a more demanding application workload as well as a 50 per cent increase in main memory capacity.

All of the new solutions are available worldwide right now and pricing can be sourced on each solution by contacting HP representatives.
