Do you remember my app of the day from 1 April – Flying? It is a travel helper with a social element – and an iOS-only app. TripCase is similar and different. How so? It is more widely available, covering both iPhone and Android, and it deals with flying and other aspects of travel too. And it will contact you if there are "issues" with your travel plans. Let me explain.
When you sign up to TripCase you get an email address. Send travel confirmation emails to that address and it will pick out the relevant info for you and add it to the app – or you can add the details manually. Alerts for changes to flight info are free and the app will help you find alternative flights.
TripCase is published by Sabre, the travel technology company that also owns Travelocity.com. You can import Trip IDs from sites like Travelocity and any reservations will be linked to your TripCase account and automatically updated. TripCase can cater for all kinds of things like hotels, restaurants, ferry bookings and so on, so all your travel info is kept in one place. You can also share travel plans from within the app.
