It's now official that HTC will be producing a red version of its One M8 handset, as the company has put up a 3D render of the device with the fiery paintjob (following earlier rumours that a red model was in the wings).
The interactive image went up on Sketchfab (spotted by Pocket Lint), and it allows you to rotate the phone vertically or horizontally in three-dimensions to get a good look at the new appearance. And it looks smart indeed, the hue being a sports car red that gives the impressions it has been thoroughly Turtle-waxed.
The One M8 is already available in gunmetal, gold and silver, and a fifth colour is expected to be added to the selection along with red – namely aqua blue, as we reported earlier this week.
The M8 has been selling well, at least according to HTC as the company expects its Q2 results to be buoyed back into the green by the new flagship handset; and extra colours to choose from won't hurt.
The smartphone manufacturer has also just unveiled the HTC One mini 2, the more compact version of the M8 with a 4.5in screen, although it cuts some corners in terms of resolution (at 720p), CPU, and the camera is just a standard model (as opposed to the M8's fancy snapper which offers a second camera on the rear for post-shot effects). The excellent build quality has been maintained, though, HTC claims, and pricing will be crucial for this smaller sibling.
