Vodafone has partnered up with Netflix to offer its 4G LTE customers a major free movie streaming bonus.
Those who sign up for a Red 4G tariff from Vodafone will get a six month pre-paid Netflix subscription to allow them to use their high-speed connection to its maximum advantage in terms of video streaming to their handset (and, of course, their tablet, HDTV or other devices, as well).
Netflix, as you're doubtless aware, offers a large range of movies and TV shows, particularly majoring in the latter with some exclusive offerings such as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
Vodafone's Netflix offer isn't available just yet, mind you, as it kicks off in July (online and in stores) and will run until the end of 2014.
The added bonus is that for the first three months, you get unlimited data, too, which will allow you to stream anything and everything you want. After that, though, the usual 4G issue kicks in – while you can stream everything very fast, you'll also chew through your data allowance equally as swiftly, particularly with activities like streaming movies.
Cindy Rose, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, commented: "With 4G, speed is just the start: It's what you can do with it that's really exciting. We're delighted to be partnering with Netflix so that our Red 4G customers can enjoy their favourite TV programmes and films when out and about... There's no need to mess about finding a Wi-Fi hotspot, with ultrafast 4G you can just enjoy your favourite entertainment on the move whenever you want it."
Vodafone's 4G coverage now extends to 233 cities and towns across the UK, and Netflix is also planning to extend its European coverage as we reported yesterday.
