HTC's compact version of its flagship smartphone won't be on sale until the very end of June – or at least the silver version of the phone won't, that is if Amazon has its dates correct.
Previously, we'd heard the HTC One mini 2 would be available in June, and the mention of 13 June as a possible date – but Amazon has the silver version of the handset up with a 30 June release date. The grey (gunmetal) coloured One mini 2, however, has a release date of 16 June – so that's not too much of a wait.
Who knows – the date on the silver version may be brought forward yet, as these are just early pre-order indications; as is the price, which Amazon has pegged at a hefty £499. It's not unusual for pre-order devices to be priced high, though, and then come down as the release date nears.
The One mini 2 will sport a 4.5in screen with a 720p resolution (so it's not exactly that "mini"), with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU, backed up with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. The fancy camera from the HTC One M8, its bigger brother, has also been dropped in favour of a standard 13 megapixel snapper.
If you want to know exactly how the mini version of the M8 shapes up, then keep your eyes peeled on ITProPortal, as our full review of the phone will arrive tomorrow.
