Business software provider Sage is holding a special event tailored for entrepreneurs, startups and small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) on 18 June.
Entitled 'Secrets to my Success', it will focus on providing aspiring business people with the advice, tips and knowledge they require to build a successful organisation.
Attendees will be able to view insightful, 30-minute talks from experts from the likes of SwiftKey and moo.com, as well participate in a range of intimate question and answer sessions. Sage will also be hosting extensive networking opportunities with over 150 small businesses.
Lucy Yu, the vice president of people and culture at SwiftKey, will take the stage to explain why a great working environment is crucial for achieving business objectives. With over a decade of experience working in the private and public sectors, from startups through to IGOs, Yu deals with issues of growth, company culture, leadership and management, recruitment and retention, policies and internal communications.
SwiftKey has flown the flag for the British startup scene for several years now, and continues to dominate both Apple's and Google's app stores. The company also recently picked up the top prize in the prestigious Appsters competition.
Moo.com's chairman, Simon Calver, will follow Yu on stage, to demonstrate inspiring business and the importance of improvement through performance-driven organisational and financial restructuring activities. Having previously held roles as the CEO of LOVEFiLM International, vice president and general manager at Dell and vice president of international sales operations at PepsiCo, Calver is more than comfortable handling key components of important organisations, as well as those all-important finances.
London-based online printing and personal identity service company moo.com poses slightly different challenges to Calver, which he has taken in his stride. The company is now considered one of the UK's top startups, has won three Webby awards and has opened multiple offices in the US.
Sage firmly believes that SMBs require freedom, information and guidance in order to thrive, and the 'Secrets to my Success' will provide just that. There will be more speakers on the night, which will end with a Q&A session involving an entire panel of experts.
The event kicks off at 6pm at the offices of Wayra UK, which are situated at 2-10 Capper Street in central London. Tickets are free and getting snapped up quickly, so you're going to have to move fast to claim yours.
Refreshments will be provided on the night, and if you tweet your attendance to @sageuk, using the hashtag #sagebizhuddle, you could bag yourself £100 worth of Hailo taxi credit.
