Windows Phone 7 'Mango' - hands-on in pictures

One Mobile Ring has attended a Microsoft 'Christmas in July' event, where the company shows to the press the upcoming products that will be arriving by the end of this year. At that very event we managed to capture a hands-on briefing of some of the features that will be in the Windows Phone 7 'Mango' update to the OS, along with a video that we will publish another day.

Just to whet appetite ahead of the footage are these images below, that highlight the better use of live titles, the group messaging feature, pictures being brought in from Facebook, contact history, threaded messages, auto face detection for tagging, various ways to share media, multitasking, IE9 with HTML5 support, Bing integration, local scout and more Xbox live features - all of which are new to Windows Phone 7 'Mango'.

Some of the more astute of you will notice the mobile phone running the new OS is by Asus, who are one of the new hardware manufacturers to enter the WP7 arena. The handset seen below is just a prototype made by Asus for the purpose of these briefings and not one that may be arriving on the shelves, later on in the year.
