Amazon has been very busy on the Kindle front, with revamps of the Fire HD, HDX, a new base model Kindle with a touchscreen, and an all-new slick sounding Voyage e-reader.
It’s not exactly clear who is driving this boat but Samsung and Barnes & Noble have teamed up on a new Nook reading device that’s more like a tablet.
After a leak briefly surfaced earlier this week Amazon has officially launched Kindle Unlimited, a pay per-month eBook subscription service.
Internal documents obtained by the press reveal the Redmond firm is planning to acquire ebooks and Nook hardware from the Nook Media project it invested in last year.
Our expectations may not have been especially high before our rendezvous with the LCD/E-Ink double-sided YotaPhone, but the innovative device certainly impressed.
